Approximately every 8 weeks the club holds a Grading evening.

Dogs and their handlers take part in a short test ranging from heelwork and short stays on lead to heelwork on and off lead, novice recall, retrieve and stays off lead, based upon the training over the previous weeks.

The dog that achieve the required standard upgrade to the next class.

There are rosettes for the first five places in the class and a gold, silver and bronze medal for first to third. Please note that as stated in the club rules, Handlers must attend at least half of the training sessions being currently attended to qualify for any awards. Those working a dog in a lower class must complete a Grading in the Class their Dog is qualified for to receive an award. This rule does not stop a member taking part or grading to the next class.

Photographs of the first five dogs and handlers are published on this website.
